Position Summary: Assists in providing 24-hour management of the unit(s) or department assigned.
Minimum Experience: A minimum of two-three (2-3) years of working experience is required, including at least one (1) year in which management and leadership ability have been demonstrated. Must have knowledge of management process and a working knowledge of policies and procedures, safety and disaster regulations and labor agreements; knowledge of new developments in chosen profession, supervision of practice, application of principles of personnel and financial management. For staff involved in the care of age-specific groups, knowledge of the bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric and pediatric patients is essential. Special knowledge is required in growth and development needs of pediatric/geriatric patients where applicable.
ED experience required. Shift manager or charge nurse experience preferred.
Licensure Requirement: Required licensure and/or certification must be current. CPR required.
