Student Nurse Associate- Critical Care Unit
OCC/PRN; Shifts vary as needed
Critical Care Department: A 30 bed unit composed of an 8 bed Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU), 8 bed Medical Surgical ICU (MSICU) and a 14 bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). Ft Sanders is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Regional Referral Center that offers many full service lines to care for all East Tennessean needs with a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio. Fort Sanders offers an Intermediate Care Unit that is a fast-paced unit caring for a variety of medical patients that do not require critical care, but still require closer observation, with a 1:3 nurse-patient ratio.
Postion Summary: Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and supportive services under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Minimum Education: Student in an accredited nursing education program. Student must have successfully completed fundamental clinical skills portion of the program. (1st semester of clinicals)
Minimum Experience: None required but able to perform as nursing assistant; previous hospital experience preferred. Must be able to operate computer and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Licensure Requirement: CPR Required
