Clinical Nurse III, Intermediate Care Unit
Part-Time, 48 hours per pay period, Nights
The Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Unit consists of 17 telemetry beds. Our primary scope of service is provision of direct care to patients undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass surgery, TAVR, Mitral Valve Clipping, VATS procedures, Thoracotomies, and Vascular procedures. A multidisciplinary continuum of services is available to manage the patient through acute presentation, treatment, stabilization, and discharge.
An Exercise Physiologist provides assistance with ambulation of our heart, lung, and vascular patients after surgery. Evaluation of each patient’s overall health is determined, and then individualized exercise plans are developed with the intent to increase physical fitness, strength, and endurance.
A Cardiovascular Educator provides ongoing education to staff regarding numerous topics such as medications, policy and procedures, documentation, patient care and patient safety. The educator also works directly with new employees and their Clinical Coach to provide nursing orientation to the unit for a period of approximately four weeks.
Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of (3) years professional experience.
Continuing Education: Twenty (20) hours required annually (10 to enhance clinical expertise); or fifteen (15) hours required annually, plus ACLS certification; or Ten (10) hour required annually, plus specialty certification; or Ten (10) hours required annually, plus ACLS instructor.
Licensure Requirement: Valid Tennessee RN license. Yearly infection control, fire, safety and CPR in-services are required.
